October 2008: Heartland retains AgProfessionals, LLC of Longmont, Colorado to assist in selection of a plant site and permitting of Heartland’s Weld County Colorado plant.

September 2009: Heartland retains Applied Technologies, Inc. of Brookfield, Wisconsin to provide engineering design services associated with Heartland’s Weld County Colorado plant.

September 29, 2009: The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has been asked by Weld County to review the certificate of designation application and has requested public comment for an anaerobic digester facility to be located approximately 7 miles south east of La Salle, Colorado. The operation will accept agricultural, food and yard waste and yield methane-rich gas and soil amendment.

January 5, 2010: Colorado Department of Agriculture awards Heartland Renewable Energy a $75,000 grant to assist in the implementation of a waste to energy plant in Weld County Colorado.

July 6, 2010: Weld County Planning Commission approves HRE proposal to build a solid waste disposal site and renewable energy plant.
